Anisimova Pulls out of Rome with Wrist Injury. Roland-Garros in Jeopardy?

Amanda Anisimova has pulled out of Rome due to a nagging left wrist injury that has prevented her from playing on clay this year.

The news was announced on Thursday by the tournament.

Anisimova, 11-6 on the season thus far, last played in Miami where she lost in the round of 16 to Belinda Bencic, 6-2, 6-2.

It has been a particularly turbulent spring for Anisimova, who parted ways with her longtime coach Hendrik Vleeshouwers in late March 2026 in late March.

Anisimova is on a trial basis with coach Sebastian Sachs, a former coach of Emma Raducanu and Belinda Bencic.

She has had to skip Charleston, Madrid and now Rome.

The two-time major finalist, aged 24 and ranked six, has been practicing. This tweet was posted on Wednesday, of Anisimova practicing with some taping on her left wrist in Rome.
